Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

This elective takes participants on a journey to read the Bible with curiosity, imagining how God acts in Scripture and how God might act today. Participants will be encouraged to share their own voices as they encounter the biblical text while also being curious about the stories of others, understanding how these stories shape the way we read the Bible. While going on a journey through the book of Acts, participants will share their insights with one another, listening to new perspectives and beginning to dream about what God may be up to today.

Hospitality: the Good News about Evangelism and Youth Ministry
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

What does it look like to share the good news alongside our young people? What might the practice of hospitality tell us about the good news? What might it teach us about the work of evangelism? In this elective we will consider what the New Testament has to say about hospitality and we will discuss the practical ways that hospitality not only facilitates ministry to young people, it becomes ministry with young people who long for a place to connect and a seat at the table. Join us as we connect the stories of Scripture to the real-life story of Feed Truck Ministries, Inc. and explore the possibilities of hospitality as evangelism.

Lessons from a Post-Christian Youth Work Context
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

If necessity is the mother of invention, then there is a lot of work to do. In this session, two of the senior leadership team from the organization Youthscape are here to share some of the lessons, pitfalls, and encouragements of trying to reach and support young people in a post-Christian culture. Youthscape is an organization that supports young people with diverse experiences and challenges in the UK——a nation which has left much of its mainstream Christian heritage behind. Gamifying conversations about faith, anxiety, and sexual ethics, as well as doing research on experiential apologetics (and running a film-school for the YouTube generation of evangelists) is all part of our work. We use research, the experience of our youth-work team, and a robust innovation process to reach young people.
